Exhibitions and Museums in Vienna
Albertina
It is named after its founder Duke Albert of Sachsen-Teschen. The place which was built in 1781 and extended and altered later, contains the famous collection of graphic art.
Heeresgeschichtliches Museum
Vienna's first museum building, designed by a Theophil Hansen and Ludwig Förster and built between 1850-1857 at the Arsenal. Exhibits of the Austrian Army and the Imperial Navy.
Museum complex
The spectacular cultural centre is one of the museum centres in the world. It harbours the Leopold Museum with its largest collection Schiele paintings, the Museum of Modern Art and Kunsthalle (Art Hall).
Natural - and Art History Museums
They were built symmetrically opposite each other by Gottfried Semper and Karl von Hasenauer from 1871 to 1891. The monument of Maria Theresa can be found between the two buildings.
Liechtenstein Museum
We can visit one of the most important and largest private collections of the world: the collection of prince Hans Adam II of Lichtenstein.
House of Music
It was founded in 2000, visitors can learn how a musical instrument works and can try composition, conducting and playing. An interesting attraction is the virtual orchestra where anyone can take a baton and conduct the Vienna Phil on a large screen with the score of the Blue Danube or Radetzky March.
Old town hall
Owned by the city of Vienna since 1316 with magnificent portal dating from 1700.
In the courtyard the Andromeda fountain can be found. Behind it the Salvatore church is situated, which was built in the 14th century.
