Vienna Public Transport
Vienna has well-built public transport network. You can choose the U-Bahn (underground) or the S-Bahn (suburban railway) to go around the city. All means of transport are fast and frequent. If you prefer doing sport, you can cycle as well as there is a good cycle track in Vienna. Going by car is the most difficult way of travelling especially in rush hours due to the traffic jams.
Roads, highways, mountain roads are good and well-maintained in Austria. There are several rent-a-car companies in the bigger cities.
The Bundesbus (federal bus) network supplements the rail service, and is used for local trips instead of long distance travel. Some ski resorts can only be reached by Bundesbus.
Railway is a rapid, efficient and comfortable way of traveling in Austria. Trains are very frequent in Austria.
We can rent bike from rental shops in the main cities. Separate bike tracks are common and the Danube cycling trail runs from the Black Forest in Germany to Vienna.
